Riversleigh originates from 3 1886 Victorian terraces and was renovated to it's original elegance in 1987.Consisting of 20 rooms we are located 150m from the GPO and you can park your car and walk to the CBD.We are the only accommodation that is not on the highway so it is lovely and quite ensuring a good nights sleep.Each room has it's own private bathroom TV mini bar and tea & coffee making facilities.All rooms are unique with no two rooms the same.Twelve foot ceilings and some with brass or wrought iron beds and the best showerheads in the region.Indulge in the ambience of our magnificent dining room where our team presents modern australian cuisine.Our wine list consists of Gippslands finest as well as the tradional favourites.
Sit by the open fire and enjoy a coffee or wine or on the verandah overlooking the Mitchell River .
LocalityA short drive will take you to Lakes Entrance where you can stroll along the waterfront and watch the black swans or go across the walkway to part of the ninety nile beach.
Another short drive will take you to Paynesville another beautiful waterway and catch the ferry across to Raymond Island to see the koalas in there natural habitat.
The amazing Buchan Caves are close by and you can also visit the many wineries in the district.
Take a stroll or bike ride along the river and visit the magnificant Catholic Church and Court House. PropertyRiversleigh is completly different than a purpose built motel.Rooms are located on both sides of the building and the ambience of the older style building has been kept.Of course there are things like no fly screens on windows and open fireplaces and mantle pieces still in rooms unfortunately not working due to the heritage rules, but we have all modern conveniences to make your stay enjoyable. You can sit in the reading room or in the front or back courtyard and completly relax with a coffee or good glass of wine.For the more energetic go for a short or long walk around the river which is just outside our front door.
